Ah Refreshing!

It's always wonderful to go on vacation to someplace nice like Oahu, Hawaii. But there is nothing like being back home.

This picture is overlooking Honolulu & Waikiki from Diamond Head. I'm not sure what my running stats look like from the trip but I'm sure I more than doubled my mileage especially when I add in all of the hiking.

I've been back back for a couple of days now and my legs are still jelly lol.
I'm still trying to sort out all of my pictures and the video that I took during the trip, but I'll add a page with some details about the pics when I can.
Until then... Have Fun!

Peaceful Running,

I would like to thank those who responded with supportive comments, and who contacted me outside of the regular blogging channels. The memorial services were heart breaking as my friends little girl cried, and his wife just broke down. There is something about that military bugle when it cracks the silence at the end that just rings in the heart for a long time afterwards.

It was still ringing when I got home and just changed into some running clothes and headed out the door. It was a light drizzle and about 70 degrees... nice running weather for such a day.

I wasn't really running very fast, more or less plodding along and thinking about better times. I was about 2 miles into it when I realized I didn't have my walkman with me... oh well sometimes I think it's better without it, just you and the country side... well as country side as you get living this close to the city lol, but it was quiet enough to hear and see the birds hoping for a bounty of fat juicy worms the rain brought to the surface. Yum!

I got to the point I couldn't run anymore... not sure how far away from home I was but I walked back to check it out on mapmyrun.com it's kind of tricky figuring out where I was because the roads are there but the development isn't built yet so fairly limited landmarks but it was roughly a 5 mile run with a 3 mile walk added to the end to get home. Sunday will definitely be a rest day because I'm whooped lol.

Jumped in a quick ice bath and cleaned up... time to get back to work and get my website dressed up a little bit, and to put the finishing touches on a few sections so they can get posted finally.

As I'm looking out the window from my living room, the most brilliant rainbow is taking shape. Each color is super vibrant and clear against the dark clouds on the horizon as the sun is coming out...

It looks like it's going to be a nice day after all... and everything is going to be alright!

p.s.
See you buddy...
You will not be forgotten!

Tough Times

I've received some bad news... not sure how much I want to share but someone very close has passed away in a less than pleasant way. I am really beginning to hate certain media types that could care less about your loss and your feelings just to "get an angle" on some perceived story and seem to get their kicks out of your plight.

Then Mr. Murphy got involved... as I was trying to finish up some projects and notify others of the events when my p.c. bit the dust and I had to try to get things done from back ups. I don't know about your back up system but mine never seems to really restore things "like they were". But rather it just seems to spit your data back at you kind of like my dog with his chew toys... they just are not the same ya know?

So anyway the memorial will be at the end of this week... I'm not sure that I'll be blogging much between now and then.

Thanks for stopping by, see you next week.

Deja Vu! !uV ajeD

Well I'm home!... What?... All of this furniture looks so familiar?... hmmm even the dog in the back yard is the same???

I tried to make things easy on myself and go with everything from the same vendor, you know for the old compatibility being simple issue lol... Well little did I know that if I signed up for the basic Microsoft website service which I like none of the other products would work right? Sheesh!

So I'm back to using blogger because using the Live Spaces provided by Microsoft would put a huge banner add across my website. Not that I mind an add being placed on a free service but I can't control those adds and simply put I'm not impressed by their choices. And besides that Blogger doesn't charge me anything either, has no adds, and looks more clean on the page soooo I gave Live Spaces the old heave ho!

For now then I will keep my blogger account so those of you used to leaving comments via blogger will be glad to know you can still leave them the say way but I have opened up the permissions so anyone can comment without signing in.

So hopefully I'll have figured out the rest of the stuff I need to really get my site up and running soon... it's a shame but when I'm out running I'm thinking of tips and tricks to buff up my site lol instead of making my next split... Some thing's wrong with my head lol... must be the heat:)

Moving Day!

Well it feels strange looking around the old place and seeing it empty. No quips and quotes, no banter... everything swept and cleaned up ready for the next occupant to call it their blogger home.

I'm pretty much all moved into my new website at http://www.seeredrun.com/. If you had links to my blog I would appreciate it if you updated them to my new blog page found over here: http://seeredrun.com/redsblog.aspx. and if you get the chance post a comment and let me know you stopped by. I may not be in the office but the new place has a virtual coffee bar so help yourself... just don't sell the place!

I've also moved the Weight Loss Game to here: http://seeredrun.com/weightlossgame.aspx, in case you need to update that link also. I think you will like the new site. It's a hobby/work in progress but I've wanted to add so much more to my blog than it designed to do and now I have the freedom to add anything that comes to mind. In fact I added a page just to keep track of all of the blogger's from Runners World in alphabetical order, it can be found here: http://seeredrun.com/bloggers.aspx

I've already added a few sections just to make it feel like home, like my blog lol. and much more is on the way in due time. And just think... no more blogger type these letters a hundred times to confirm you are who you just signed in as a minute ago before saying hello lol.

Have fun everyone! Your invited to check out the new place, and be sure to tell me what you think of it. Even better? If you have ideas or would be interested in writing an article or two just let me know. I'll provide credit and links to your site if you are so inclined.
